Childers & Soto named 2015 Prom King & Queen
The Junior Class hosted the 2015 Prom, Denim & Diamonds, on Saturday at Cagels.  Shelby McCullough, junior class president, welcomed everyone to the prom.  Ashley McCullough, senior class president, thanked the juniors for all their hard work preparing for the prom.  Maddison Tate offered the invocation.  After a meal of brisket and sausage, Savanah Murphy and Mariah DeLeon read the junior prophesy and Natalie Luna and Alyssa Martinez followed with the senior wills.  Noell Luna announced the Prom King Zack Chilcers, and Kole Vedder announced the Prom Queen Fabi Soto.  Everyone enjoyed the rest of the evening dancing and visiting the photo booth.

Bobcats fall to Tahoka
Bobcats traveled to Tahoka last Friday to take on the Bulldogs.  It was a tough game for the Bobcats as they fell to the Bulldogs 5-4.  The Bobcats will play O'Donnell on Monday, May 4 to end district play.

Smyer advances 15 athletes in 14 different events to the Regional Track Meet
Records broken again!
The Lady Cats and Bobcats participated in the District/Area Track Meet on Saturday in Seagraves.  Smyer moves on 15 athletes in 14 events to the Regional Track Meet which will be held in Odessa on May 1-2.  The Bobcats 4 X 100 and 4 X 200 set new records again.  Team members for both relays are Nic Lucero, James Albus, Gilbert Gonzales, and BobbyJoe Boggs.  The NEW school record for the 4 X 100 is 43:16 and the 4 X 200 is 1:31.08.  Jordan Brown set a new school record in the 1600 with a time of 4:42.
The Lady Cats will move on: Savanah Murphy in pole vault, Destiny Lee in discus, Shelby McCullough in long jump, and the 4 X400 relay with members Lexie Fowler, Rebekah, Shelby McCullough, and Jazmine Lee.
The Bobcats advanced: Jordan Brown in the 3200 & 1600 meter runs, the 4 X100 and 4 X 200 relays with members James Albus, Nic Lucero, Gilbert Gonzales, and BobbyJoe Boggs. Nic Lucero in the 100, long jump and triple jump, James Albus in the 100, Ramon Lopez in the 300 hurdles, BobbyJoe Boggs in the 200, Brennen Fowler in the discus and shot put, Bryce Jones in the discus, and Tristan Fuentes in the triple jump.  The Bobcats placed second as a team missing first place by .5 points.
Both teams will compete in a Regional Qualifiers Meet in Springlake-Earth on Thursday.

Smyer Student Council creates Wall of Honor for service men and women
Smyer Student Council is working diligently to create a Wall of Honor for Smyer graduates who are currently serving or who have served in the armed forces.  If someone is interested in having a loved one honored, please submit a picture (no larger than 5X7), rank, branch of service, and years served.  Pictures in any type of uniform or in action is preferred, but not required.  All pictures can be returned, but the council would like to keep the Wall of Honor up for many years and continue to add to it, so if you would like your picture returned please note on submitted picture.  Pictures can be dropped off at the front office, submitted digitally to Belinda Maye at, or mailed to:

Pictures from Website can now be Purchased
Due to the large number of requests, pictures from the website slideshows can now be purchased.  Use the link above to view the slideshows.  The pictures will be printed $2 for a 4X6, $5 for a 5X7, and $7.50 for an 8X10.  The proceeds go to The Pride, Smyer yearbook.  Please allow up to two weeks for delivery.  No pictures will be sent via email, only printed pictures.  Click on the link to the left to submit a request.  Orders will not be processed until payment is received.  Make checks out to Smyer ISD.  Return money to Mrs. Maye in the high school or mail in payment to:
