TEA Ranks All Smyer Campuses & District "Recognized"
The Texas Education Agency has relased their annual list of School Accountability ratings.  Texas annually rates its public schools and districts on the academic performance of their students through the TAKS tests, Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills, given throughout the year.  Smyer ISD is proud to announce that Smyer Elementary, Smyer HS, and Smyer ISD have all received the rating of Recognized from TEA.  Congratulations students and teachers!
Homecoming Brisket Dinner
The Band Booster will host a Homecoming Brisket Dinner on Friday, September 10, before the homecoming game against Claude.  The dinner will be served in the cafeteria from 5:00-6:30.  The cost is $8 per plate.  No tickets will be sold in advance.  Pay at the door.  Any questions?  See a Band Booster officer: Ron Seigman, Patricia Villanueva, Patty Lucero, or Cari McCullough.
Hot Dog Supper
Smyer PTO will host a Hot Dog Supper on Friday, September 24, in the cafeteria from 5:00-6:30.  The cost for the hot dog supper is $5 per plate.  No tickets will be sold in advance.  Pay at the door.  Questions?  See a PTO officer: Patricia Villanueva, Patty Lucero, Bridgett Kirkland, or Josie DelaGarza.
Game Day
The Smyer Bobcats took on the Lubbock Christian Eagles on Friday, August 27. Game Day began with a pep rally in the new gym with the cheerleaders pumping up the spirit, and the band adding the music. The Bobcats took the field at 7:30 and fought until the very end. The game ended with a loss 18-27, but the Bobcats provided much excitement throughout the game.
