Brennen Fowler selected to play in TABC All-Star Basketball games
Brennen Fowler, Smyer HS senior, has been chosen by TABC to play in the TABC All Star Basketball Games, one of the finest All-Star Games in Texas.  Brennen is one of the elite high school seniors in the state of Texas that was chosen by the TABC Board to participate in the games.  Brennen will also have the opportunity to hear from top college and high school speakers.  The game will be played in San Antonio at Trinity University on Friday, May 22.

Bobcat Baseball overpowers Morton 20-3
The Bobcats district baseball season is underway.  During Spring Break the Bobcats took on Sundown and Plains to open district play.  The Bobcats suffered a 2 run loss to Sundown but rallied back to demolish Plains.  On Tuesday, the Bobcats traveled to Morton to take on the Indians.  The bats were flying as they defeated the Indians 20-3 improving their district record to 2-1.  On Friday the Bobcats will travel to Seagraves.  Game time is set for 5:00.

Smyer hosted a JH Track Meet on Monday, March 23, and the meet was a huge success for both the Lady Cats and Bobcats.  Results and pictures are posted below.

Smyer FFA presented check from Monsanto
Smyer FFA was presented a check Tuesday morning for $2500.  Larry Martin, a representative from Monsanto, presented the group the check.  Smyer was nominated for the award by local farmer Mr. Teddy Ayers.
Smyer Track Meets scheduled for week after Spring Break
Parent volunteers needed
Smyer will host two track meets the week after Spring Break.  The Smyer JH Track Meet is scheduled for Monday, March 23, and the HS Track Meet is scheduled for Thursday, March 26.  The Athletic Booster Club will be in charge of the concession stand for both meets.  If you can volunteer for one or both meets, please contact Tammy Fowler at tfowler@smyer-isd.org or Beth Franklin at bfranklin@smyer-isd.org.  Your help would be greatly appreciated.  The Booster Club is also needing individually wrapped snacks.  If you can donate, please contact Tammy or Beth.
Smyer Student Council creates Wall of Honor for service men and women
Smyer Student Council is working diligently to create a Wall of Honor for Smyer graduates who are currently serving or who have served in the armed forces.  If someone is interested in having a loved one honored, please submit a picture (no larger than 5X7), rank, branch of service, and years served.  Pictures in any type of uniform or in action is preferred, but not required.  All pictures can be returned, but the council would like to keep the Wall of Honor up for many years and continue to add to it, so if you would like your picture returned please note on submitted picture.  Pictures can be dropped off at the front office, submitted digitally to Belinda Maye at bmaye@smyer-isd.org, or mailed to:

Pictures from Website can now be Purchased
Due to the large number of requests, pictures from the website slideshows can now be purchased.  Use the link above to view the slideshows.  The pictures will be printed $2 for a 4X6, $5 for a 5X7, and $7.50 for an 8X10.  The proceeds go to The Pride, Smyer yearbook.  Please allow up to two weeks for delivery.  No pictures will be sent via email, only printed pictures.  Click on the link to the left to submit a request.  Orders will not be processed until payment is received.  Make checks out to Smyer ISD.  Return money to Mrs. Maye in the high school or mail in payment to:
