Smyer Cross Country Meet
Saturday, September 20
Smyer ISD will host a Smyer Cross Country Meet in Smyer next Saturday, September 20.  Come out and support the Lady Cats and Bobcat runners.  There will be some roads closed during the meet, and there will be numerous buses in town.  Please avoid the road in front of the school and the two side roads on the east and west side of the school.
Smyer FFA/4H will compete at the South Plains Fair
Smyer FFA/4H have been working hard for the upcoming South Plains Fair.  The Ag Mechanics Show and Goat Show will be held Saturday, September 20, at the South Plains Fair Grounds.  On Sunday the members will show in the Swine Show and on September 25 & 26, the members will compete in the South Plains Fair Rabbit Show.  The Lamb and Heifer Steer Show will be held on Saturday, September 27.  Good luck to all Smyer members!

Bobcats move to 1-2 after a close game at Tahoka
Friday night's game in Tahoka was a close game to the very end.  The Bobcats scored twice on the Bulldogs but ended the game with a 12-14 loss.  The 7th, 8th, and JV took on the Bulldogs on Thursday in Smyer.  The 7th Bobcats suffered a loss, but the 8th Bobcats and JV both came out victorious.  Next up for the Bobcats will be Springlake-Earth.  The JH & JV teams will travel to Springlake-Earth on Thursday.  The JH game will begin at 5:00 followed by the JV at 6:30.  The Bobcats will host the Wolverines on Friday with a game time set for 7:30.  Come out and support your Bobcats!

Smyer PTO is selling t-shirts
Fall Festival planned; volunteers needed
Smyer PTO is selling t-shirts for $12.  Contact Martha Cavazos if you are interested in purchasing a shirt @ 234-2935 ext 107 or mcavazos@smyer-isd.org.  There will be a limited number.
The PTO has also set Saturday, October 25, for the Fall Festival from 6:00-8:30.  PTO is seeking volunteers for that night.  If you can help part or all of that night, please contact Martha Cavazos @ 234-2935 ext 107 or mcavazos@smyer-isd.org.
2013-2014 yearbooks have arrived
Only 6 extra books left!
The 2013-2014 yearbooks, One for the Books, have arrived.  Balfour sent 17 extra yearbooks, but only 6 are left.  If you would like to purchase one of the extra yearbooks, contact Mrs. Maye for more information. bmaye@smyer-isd.org or 234-2935 ext. 208. The cost per book is $35.  Books will be sold first come first serve.

Pictures from Website can now be Purchased
Due to the large number of requests, pictures from the website slideshows can now be purchased.  Use the link above to view the slideshows.  The pictures will be printed $2 for a 4X6, $5 for a 5X7, and $7.50 for an 8X10.  The proceeds go to The Pride, Smyer yearbook.  Please allow up to two weeks for delivery.  No pictures will be sent via email, only printed pictures.  Click on the link to the left to submit a request.  Orders will not be processed until payment is received.  Make checks out to Smyer ISD.  Return money to Mrs. Maye in the high school or mail in payment to:
