Two easy ways to order

It's time to order your 2015-2016 yearbook, Our Journey.  The cost is $30; after March 25, the price increases to $35.  Names and icons are available for the yearbooks.  They are $6 each.  There are two easy ways to order.  1) Fill out the forms below and return it with your money to a homeroom teacher or Mrs. Maye.  2) You can now order online.  Visit and enter either Smyer or our ZIP code 79367.  There are many options to add items when ordering online.  There are a limited number of yearbooks.  Make sure you order yours earlier before books run out!

Smyer Book Fair scheduled for Feb. 8-12
Volunteers needed
Smyer PTO announces Smyer Book Fair is scheduled for Monday, February 8 - Friday, February 12 from 9:00-3:00 in the Elementary Library.  The PTO could use some volunteers to help run the Book Fair.  Please call 234-2935 ext. 107 to volunteer.  Parent Night is scheduled for Thursday, February 11, from 5:00-7:00.
Lady Cats & Bobcats add district wins
Take clean sweep at Morton
The Bobcats added two more district wins to move them to 10-0, and the Lady Cats added one win and one loss moving their district record to 7-4.  District winds down this week.  The last game of the regular season for the Lady Cats ends Tuesday in Smyer, and the Bobcats end their regular season on Friday in Smyer.  Tuesday both teams will face Plains on Senior Night.  Games are set to begin at 4:00 (JV Lady Cats 4:00, JV Bobcats 5:00, V Lady Cats 6:30, & V Bobcats 8:00).  On Friday the JV & V Bobcats will face Sundown with games at 5:00 & 6:30.
The JH Lady Cats will play their last game on Monday in Smyer vs Tahoka.  Games will begin at 5:00.  The JH Bobcats will travel to Tahoka for their last game of the season.  Games will be at 5:00 & 6:00.  The JH Blue and the 9th Bobcats will travel to LCHS for their final games of the season.  Games will be at 6:30 & 7:30.

The coaching staff of Smyer ISD is implementing the Positively Blue campaign.  The coaches hope to make Smyer a place noted for as classy behavior as can be found anywhere on the South Plains.  Please take the time to read the letter from the coaches below.

TexQuest electronic resources are now available to Smyer students
TexQuest is a statewide digital resources program of the Texas State Library and Archives Commission that provides anytime, anywhere access to high quality, authoritative digital resources to all educators and students.  Links to these sites are listed under the Student Links.  Contact the high school for login information for the Adam Matthew Digital sites, American West and American Indian Histories and Cultures, Gale and Britannica.
Smyer Student Council creates Wall of Honor for service men and women
Smyer Student Council is working diligently to create a Wall of Honor for Smyer graduates who are currently serving or who have served in the armed forces.  If someone is interested in having a loved one honored, please submit a picture (no larger than 5X7), rank, branch of service, and years served.  Pictures in any type of uniform or in action is preferred, but not required.  All pictures can be returned, but the council would like to keep the Wall of Honor up for many years and continue to add to it, so if you would like your picture returned please note on submitted picture.  Pictures can be dropped off at the front office, submitted digitally to Belinda Maye at, or mailed to:

Pictures from Website can now be Purchased
Due to the large number of requests, pictures from the website slideshows can now be purchased.  Use the link above to view the slideshows.  The pictures will be printed $2 for a 4X6, $5 for a 5X7, and $7.50 for an 8X10.  The proceeds go to The Pride, Smyer yearbook.  Please allow up to two weeks for delivery.  No pictures will be sent via email, only printed pictures.  Click on the link to the left to submit a request.  Orders will not be processed until payment is received.  Make checks out to Smyer ISD.  Return money to Mrs. Maye in the high school or mail in payment to:
